My part in the work
I contributed to the art direction and storyboard development within Carbon’s wider campaign team. This selection brings together the current visual studies and the latest main film sequence.
A place revealed through its atmosphere
The Whispers of Johor introduces Mandarin Oriental’s residences at Desaru Coast through light, landscape and small moments of care. The Quiet Pioneer idea gives the campaign its point of view: a place discovered through how it feels to live there.
Turning the pitch into a film
The earlier proposal explored separate stories about Johor, wellbeing and lifestyle. The current storyboard brings those strands into one journey: coastline and nature, the resident’s daily rhythm, then the quiet attention of the Mandarin Oriental team. The pacing gives gestures, spaces and transitions room to register.

Light carries the mood
Soft daylight, filtered views and a gradual move towards dusk connect the film direction with the key imagery. The aim is to make the residence feel inhabited and considered, with attention on atmosphere and everyday detail.

Work in progress. This selection documents the pitch and preproduction stage. Architectural renderings are shown as shared campaign context.
